server question

i haven't *really* done any config on my rh9 server and i registered a dns at no-ip.com, this one:

http://reality-insanity.no-ip.org

"Sorry, the dynamic DNS host reality-insanity.no-ip.org was not found.
You have reached a dynamic DNS host that does not exist or one that was added within the last 5 minutes and has not yet been added to our nameservers. Please check the URL for proper spelling. If the url is correct and this is a recently added host, please wait a few minutes and try again."

So how do I get that host to point to my server? and how do I make it viewable to windows machines?

You should probably log in to the site and update your registered DNS name to point to the IP of your server. I don't use no-ip.com, I use dyndns.org and it works like a charm. I have ddclient running which automatically updates the IP address with dyndns.org (it changes daily) so I always can access my computer from anywhere without having to deal with tedious manual updating.

Are you connected via a router?

If yes, then its the IP address of the router you need (this normally comes from your router admin), then you need to setup your router to forward http requests to your server.

For example, my server IP is 10.0.0.2 on my local network, so I've setup my router to forward HTTP requests to that IP address.

I have a similar problem, I have to update my IP address manually because the dynamic DNS software keeps passing my local ip address to the DNS Server.

Hope this helps.
