Unhappy serial port on the db1500 not working?

Hi,

I m trying to communicate with the AMD Alchemy DB1500 board, that has the MIPS AU1500 processor on it.

I connected my desktop to the board via the serial port, on the board (there are 2-- i tried both)..and powered it up..set the baud rate to 115200 baud..but i dont see anything..

i want to write an image of the kernel to the board, ultimately or tftp it, cus there isnt enough flash..
i know that YAMON is installed on the board...any pointers to get the serial port working?

thanks,
ashlesha.
