Question Serial flow control in 2.6.8

I've just recently upgraded (from scratch) from 2.4.22 to 2.6.8, and the new kernel is great! Except for one glitch I've run into. Under 2.4 I ran a usb to serial adapter for some specialized printing and had the following script in the rc.local file. This script and/or rc.local doesn't seem to function in 2.6.8. I've checked permissions on my tty, and all appears to be working, except for my flow control. The printer prints on the specified port -- it just ignores my flow controls and baud rate. Does anyone know if something changed with serial connectivity in 2.6.8? I haven't found anything about this yet on my searches.

(stty 9600 ixon ixoff -ixany -onlcr; while : ; do sleep 3600; done) </dev/ttyUSB7 &

Many thanks all!

none of my rc programs are being exectuted. I have /etc/rc.d/rc.modules and /etc/rc.d/rc.local. Anyone with any ideas? Thanks!
