sendmail from within a LAN

I've got sendmail installed on my Linux router; I can send mail fine from the router using pine, but I can't seem to use it from my XPee client on the LAN.

The router's external IP varies (24.x.y.z); its internal IP is, and the XPee box's IP is

I can send mail using IIS on the XPee box by telling Eudora that the SMTP server is, but I'm not really sanguine about running IIS at all, even behind a firewall, especially since I don't know how to configure it to make sure that I'm the only one using it to relay mail.

If I try to set my SMTP server address to 24.whatever-my-external-ip-is-today or, Eudora tells me that it can't find the SMTP server.

your sendmail file shold have a line listing the address to listen on with a default of you need to remove the and then possibly specify the ip to listen on.
