script to replace cookie(s) Security problem?

If this should be in a different forum please move it, thanks.

Background (for the question that will follow):

I looked a goodly bit for a free (as in beer) App or Extension that would selectivly save only certain cookies while deleting everything else apon closing my browser (firefox).

I found an App that was supposed to do that but the best I could figure it required action on my part every time I used my browser.I don't remember the name of that App,but I didn't want to have to take action every time I used it anyway.

I gave up looking for an App or Extension, and instead I wrote a script that is working for now, hopefully it will continue to work if all else is OK.

All I am doing at this time is replacing the empty cookie.txt file that is in the .mozilla directory with a cookie.txt file that I have saved in a different location and has the cookie from the TV guide website in it.

I am doing it with a .sh file with this in it:

cp /home/geeyathink/dwnloaded/Scripts/cookplace/cookies.txt /home/geeyathink/.mozilla/firefox/mh1eeg1n.default/
firefox

The only thing I did to the .sh file is check the "make executable" box on the properties page. It still has both the user and group as "geeyathink".

I made a "link to application" on my desktop, named it "firefox" and pointed it to this .sh file.

That way I don't have to re-enter my location info every time I visit the TV guide site.

My Questions,
Does anyone know of an App or extension that will do what I want without regular interaction from me?
Know of a better way to go about doing this myself?
Does what I am doing cause a security problem?
If so is it in and of itself insecure or can I change some permissions and such to make this safe?

This all got started as I am trying to follow some security and privacy guides for beginners that suggested deleting cookies when the browser closes.

I am trying to learn to better secure my box and don't want to create a security problem just for a little convenience on my part but if I can have the convenience AND it not be a security problem then that would be great.

Thanks for listening to my question. I hope someone has some advice,

If you're referring to this particular scripting part (asserting you're not running the script as root account user) then, no, it's not a security risk (and even if it could be, it would only affect the data in your account and not the box as a whole). The cookie part, as long as it doesn't save any password data, isn't a risk either.
