Screwed up fstab

I was trying to set up redhat so I could view my windows partition. Every time I added /dev/hdd1 I would get a not referred to in fstab error. Dumb thing, I got root access and added this to the end of the file
/dev/hdd1 /mnt/hdd1 fat32 defaults 1 1
Well now redhat is mad at me and it won't load. I am in knoppix and I am trying to fix the system. My first question is how do I get the permissions to change files in knoppix, and secondly, what should I add to I can see my windows parition?

I use this, which does not auto mount but gives the user access.

you can change things here by removing noauto, and change the umask value for the permissions you want.

/dev/hda1 /mnt/win_c vfat gid=99,uid=99,umask=0,user,noauto,rw 0 0
