Screwd up my termianl :'[ . Doesnt show my name no more!! OOPS!

Before i go any further, heres my distro Fedora Core 2, and stock gnome (2.6 i beleive, correct me if im wrong). K wel now we got settled, I can go on to the question. I was trying to make my gnome term transparent, when I accidentaly erased default. And now whenever I open up a terminal (in my session) I get bash 2.51 or something.. I would give a picture but I dont know how to do it. This is what it shows...

-bash-2.05b$

I would give a picture but I dont know how to do it. So if u can help me on showing u my problem, thatll be great. THANX!

It appears that your terminal isn't a login-shell anymore.

No idea how to change that for Gnome, though.

Cheers,

first i know nothing about gnome-terminal
and don't have a copy of it to see how it works
check and see if other terminals like rxvt or xterm have a normal prompt
anyway generally
no need to use --login option
all terms use bashrc
at the prompt type
list
this will get you a list of all shell variables
the one to look for is
PS1
seems like yours might be missing
mine gets set initially in /etc/bashrc
and a refinement is picked up out of
~/.bashrc
