Screen resolution problem on Dual mon sys

Hi

I am running a dual monitor system (Geforce2 Ti and a Matrox Mystique II)
with Debian Sarge

I used a old XF86 conf on which the system worked fine
my problem now is that the larger screen (usually 1280x1024) only displays at 1024x768 the same resolution as my smaller screen.

This isn't really a problem only it is a bit annoying.
Furthermore Debian claims that the RANR (Resize and Rotate ...) thingy isn't installed
it is but somehow I cant get it to work.

Any helpful links or pointers?
