Scandinavian characters on tty
 

How do I get scandinavian chars (ä,ö,å etc.) to work on tty? I'm using Mepis Linux.

Since I think tty is console, I'd try googling for it.
So far I found Finnish-HOWTO http://www.linux.com/howtos/Finnish-HOWTO/index.shtml (although I don't know the language of Scandinavia).
