sata hard disk is showing hd device
 
hi
i use RHEL5.0,
i'm using sata hdd on my pc, but when i execute this following command.
#fdisk -l
my hdd address is /dev/hda{1,2,3,4,5}
how this is possible that my hard disk is sata but showing hd device..
i read in one linux book that
only ide device show as hd device.
sata,scsi,usb device show as sd device ..
so plz,
post your advice for this topic..

You might have a BIOS setting that is causing the disk to be recognized as an IDE drive. In my BIOS, you have to set AHCI to enabled for SATA mode to work. I think some other boards just say SATA or IDE.
