SANE and Scanning
I have a (crappy) LG scanworks 36a scanner, and i have to scan 100+ photos for my father, but since im only running Linux, i have to setup my scanner first.
I looked at SANE and i didnt find my scanner among the supported scanners, which is hard to beleive since it is a very common scanner as far as i know. So can someone tell me if it's worth trying SANE, and if so, can someone point me to a good tutorial because i didnt find any good ones for seting up a scanner from zero, i dont even know if the scanner is detected!! Thanks you very much -NSKL |
Hmmm, is it USB, PP, or SCSI?

It's PP, (big ass 25? pin connector, connects to the same slot as a Parallel port printer)
When i run xsane it reports no devices found, so it's not even detected... what section of the kernel contains scanner (image acquisition) drivers? Thanks for the reply. -NSKL |
