SAMBA, xp client doesn't see the samba workgroup

Hello, this is my first post at the forums. I have installed samba in a linux running as dns server, it seems to work ok at the server (checked with smbclient), but when join the xp client to the workgroup, the only machine it sees is itself. The xp client access internet by one linux router and the dns server is the machine where samba is installed.

try to edit this file.

/etc/samba/smb.conf

Look for the [Global] Section, it shouldbe near the top.
Change the line:

Workgroup = WORKGROUP

To one of y ou choosing then restart samba. If you have already added and enabled users then you are good to go. If not.

smbpasswd -a username
smbpasswd -e username

Restart Samba and you should be good with the default [Homes] share. If not you will need to add some shares in the smb.conf file.
