I am using samba version "samba-3.0.0-14.3E". Where i am facing problem in accessing read only XLS files. On internet i came to know that this is the bug in this version of samba. I wants to either upgrade this to samba 3.0.2. or downgrade to to some stable version of samba. While down grading it gives lot of errors and dependencies.
Kindly help me in upgrading or downgrading the samba version.
If your distro uses a package manager (like rpm, yast etc) use this tool to upgrade samba. Else you can d/l the source code and compile it yourself. It's always better to upgrade since newer versions solve bugs and security problems.
Regards
