Samba and copying

I have a weird problem with copying to a samba server,

Not all files are copied when i do an Xcopy command on a win95 client for copying a large amount of files to the samba box.

i do get an dptr_close error in my logfiles, i suspect that it has something to do with the files that art not copied.

The files that are not copied have a 0 byte filesize.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks on forehand

hrm. I've never used Win95 to interact with a Samba share. Are you doing this via prompt?

Make sure you have rights to the file/folder you are copying too on your samba share and make sure you are a authorized user for that share too (in your smb.conf file)

Thats all I know that comes to mind in this situation.

Hope that helps.

I copy the data via the command prompt of windows 95,
The settings of the share are also ok, somebody told me that it could happen because of wrong tcp/ip settings ? can this be the problem?

I did manage to copy many gigabytes from a win98 client without any errors.

but i cant install win 98 due to licencing issues.
