Hi folks,

need some help with using rxvt and vim within the rxvt. It seems that for some reason, I'm using a rather stubborn system. I can't seem to get back space working when using less in rxvt. When I use backspace in VIM, I also get it deleting forward not backwards.

Things I've Tried:

- modified the actual terminal keybinding , didn't work

- modify lesskey binding, to us "^?" for Backspace, didn't work.


Searched everywhere online, but can't find anything that I haven't tried that didn't work.

Using xterm appears to work fine.

Any help?

try setenv TERM to rxvt

setting TERM to rxvt doesn't appear to work. It actually sets my terminal to 'dummy settings'. I've currently got that set to 'xterm'.

The problems I see at the moment are,

running less: doing a search and then backspace gives ^? all the time.

running vim: backspace is always gives me a forward deleter rather than a backwards delete.

It becomes quite annoying.
