RWX permissions w/ Knoppix?

Is there a way to get a knoppix distro that will allow me to change the Read only filesystem?

I would like to set up a temporary smb server for a class demo....and cant load anything on the hard disks....

thanks!

Any Knoppix distro can do that as far as I know.
When you're on the KDE desktop, click once on the harddrive to mount it, then right-click the drive's icon, choose Actions, to alter the Read/Write permissions. Note: NTFS partitions are not supported for writing.
