Question running a script automatically when Logging out?

Is there a file in Linux (RedHat or general) that is executed upon logout? ie, for cleanup or for logging purposes? I wish to do write to a file and custom logging before the user logs out.

Thanks,
James

If you use the bash shell, i believe the file is .bash_logout in your home directory

Thanks for that Ian!
