Running a DOS batch file

I am currently running windowsxp pro at my work, using Novell OneDesk. I am wanting to see if anyone has had success or at least knows how to boot into Linux (using a CD distrobution, like Knoppix, to mount on OneDesk, and even more importantly, run a .bat file. If I can do that last bit, I can switch to linux now and have a chance at convincing my manager it would go well. If I got OneDesk to work as well, that will almost seal the deal and prevent an "upgrade" to Vista.

Running a dos bat file

What is One Desk?

For running a bat file suggest wine, Crossover office as starters. But try winetools first to get wine working. I actually prefer it to Crossover office.

What distribution are you using. This would really help to give you appropriate advice. Also look at mtools a linux way of using dos.
