Runlevel 3 Monitor Behavior?
 
Hello all. I have Linux running on a laptop and I am going to switch to runlevel 3 because X eats up tons of memory and cpu. My question has to do with the console being idle for a while. Will the screen turn black after a while? I only ask because I can not shut off the screen on my laptop like I could on a regular monitor. I don't want a prompt burnt into my screen.

Yes, after awhile, the screen blanks.
