run a perticular script before loggin in


hey...
I need to run a perticular script containig
ip route > file1
every time my server is started. Where do i put this script file to make sure it runs every time before anyone log's in to my server?

If you're lucky enough to run slackware then just put the code (if it's bash) into your /etc/rc.d/rc.local (this is the BSD-style). I'm not so good with sysV-start scripts.

Someone with better knowhow of the sysV-init-scripts can perhaps help you if you use this.

Perhaps you can solve this with a .bashrc-file in your users homedirectory as well?
