RSYNC Issues

I started using rsync to connect to a NAS server. On my RedHat 9 system it works fine but on my 7.1 RedHat it stops transfering files. It seems that the only files it has issues with are the mysql and http files and directory. Is there anyway to make sure these are transfered I am using the the -aP option.

I've encountered problems like this, but wouldn't blame the file types, its probably just a coincidence. My first suggestion would be to make sure both clients are updated with the latest or at least the same version of rsync.

And does the NAS use your own server, like running Linux or is it like NetApp that has its own head or controllers? More details probably will get better replies.

The NAS is a windows server.

I have no problem with the newer RedHat boxes just the 7.0. Do you think I just need to update my version of rsync? Or could it be something else.

rsync and Windows? I'd never touch such a thing..

I would check both versions. I've encountered misc type problems when the rsync command from one client with a version older than the recipient is invoked.

And I'm assuming this Windows server is running openssh or some other variant, if so.. does scp work without any problems, could be an alternative way of copying those files over.
