rpm rebuild and locate command

Hi guys

Got two quick questions.

1. When I do rpm -aq|grep php the query doesnt come up. But i know the rpm file does reside on my system. When I do locate php* I get the location of the file residing in this directory "/var/cache/yum/updates-released/packages/" so what gives?

2. Similarly when i do locate php*.rpm nothing comes up yet as i mentioned before the file does exist actually multiple files but with 'php' beginning as file name. So what gives?

Using Fedora Core 2.

The correct syntax is
Code:
$rpm -qa | grep -i php
. I don't think there was any need for you to rebuild your database.
