You may have to be a Contributing Member to use vBcode in your posts. Look to the left when you post a reply, and see if the option is there.
For RPM's, try installing Apt
http://freshrpms.net/apt/, and then from a command line you can type apt-get install <rpm> and that should do it for you. But check my instructions - on the link I gave you are instructions how to install Apt and how to use it. Apt works very well.
