Angry RPM errors with Mplayer

I am trying to install Codecs for Mplayer, but every time I do I keep getting this error...!

Some package requested cannot be installed:
mplayer-codecs-win32-2.0-2.i386 (due to unsatisfied mplayer[>= 1.0pre3.20040215])
do you agree ?

Does anyone know how to by-pass this in Mandrake 10? I have even tried the SRC, and when installing Mandrake tells me to put the codecs into folders that do not exist and cannot be created.

Well how about your listen to your computer and install >= (greater than or equal to version) 1.0 pre 3.20040215 of mplayer first?

I think I may have run into a similar problem installing mplayer...
I had to install everything it asked for at once, not install one rpm, then the other etc. All in one line.

The instructions were on the mplayer site, I just ignored them the first time I looked at it because I thought I knew what I was doing.

Don't know if this helps or not, just a suggestion in case the above reply doesn't work. In general listening to your computer works.

rpm errors with Mplayer

I have looked for that file and after using the Google search engine it seems that it is not available. The closest I have come to is mplayer-1.0pre3.20040217-0.1.i386.rpm, but I think this was the one the I had downloaded orriginally. If you have another web site that would be appreciated.

I had posted this same problem on a mandrake chat line and the responce came back was "Try urpmi " so I did, with the files still not able to be installed. The error that came back was:

Some package requested cannot be installed:
mplayer-1.0pre3.20040217-0.1.i386.rpm (due to unsatisfied libmp3lame.so.0) (Y/n)

Thanks again,
