i installed suse 9.0 in my laptop..
i created root and one user...
now i m not able to login as root...
evertime i enter root and enter the password... the system goes blank... and after few second come to the login screen again...
but i m able to enter using other id.. and frm there... login as su..
Most window managers prevent you from logging in as the root user, as all programs you run inside it will run with root priveleges, which is very bad practice. Log in as yourself and use a terminal window to become root and run root stuff from that if you need to.
