rmdir or other command

As a user, if I wanted to delete a directory that has sub-directories and still has files contained, do I use rmdir or some other command to delete the dir. that still contains dirs. and files. Or do I need to login as SuperUser and issue a command?

Thanks,

Erik

depends if you have access rights to that directory.

rm -rf dirname

see the man page for more info

Hi
this is asked a few times before so polish the search button
with your cursor.
use the rm command with the -r or -R option
But you can use the midnight commander (mc) from a
console as well, better use that.
