rlpr from thunderbird, OpenOffice
 

I want to print to, (through?), rlpr from gui applications like thunderbird, Open Office, and Firefox. I have successfully printed using rlpr from the command line. I want to make rlpr my default printer. I have googled the problem and found no help that I understood. Specifics below.

Ubuntu Dapper, gnome, networked to win98 with a GDI printer.
