right to write at the /dev/parport

hi,

i'd like to allow the right to read and write to my parallele port /dev/parport0
i made :
insmod ppdev for the parallele port
but i can't change the right, it stays the same:
lr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 10 jan 15 16:54 /dev/parport0 -> parports/0

the line commande that i made, was chmod +w /dev/parport0

i looked for in google bht i found nothing.

thanks in advance for your help.

/dev/parport0 seems to be a link to /dev/parports/0
Try changing the permissions of this file.

chmod a+w /dev/parports/0

You may want to consider adding yourself to this device's group, and changeing it's mode to

rw-rw-r--

To make sure that it's only you who can write to it.

hi beaucoup(it rings french :-) )

yes i've tried the change of the right with /dev/parports/0 (but it seems that the right to write already exists:
lr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 10 jan 15 16:54 /dev/parport0 -> parports/0

crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 99, 0 jan 1 1970 /dev/parports/0

so with /dev/parports/0, i could write but with the link, i couldn't.

thanks for your help. :-)
