Right-click on mouse not working on Fedora 11
I have Fedora 11 installed on my HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop, and have been using the installation for many months.
Just this past couple of days, the 'right-click' on the mouse (whether using the trackpad mouse on the latop or an external mouse) has stopped working, but not completely. I can still right-click in firefox, on the bar at the top of screen, in a terminal window, etc. However, right-click is not working on the desktop, that is I can not right-click on a folder or a file. Nothing happens. If I right-click on the trash-can, nothing. So I know the mouse buttons are fine as right-click does work in firefox. Any thoughts ? > uname -r 2.6.30.10-105.2.23.fc11.i686.PAE |
Is this a default Fedora with the Gnome desktop? This sounds like there is something wrong with Nautilus.

Yes, default Fedora (version 11) with gnome desktop.
It was working a few days ago. |
did you install any updates ?
if so what? look in the yum log "/var/log/yumlog" what was installed just before the r-click stopped working. |

For an unknown reason, my linux box needed to fsck the / partition last week, due to a bad shutdown (although I am certain I shut the laptop down properly the night before...anyways). I found three 'menu' files for nautilus in lost+found. I used yum to re-install the nautilus package to ensure everything is where it needs to be, and the menus are back. :) Many thanks for the help! |
