RH9 Running slow?

Is anyone else having problems with RH9 running slow?

Im a complete Linux noob, i have just installed RH9, but it seems to be running very slow (It takes a long time for programs to boot up). ive got an AMD K6 400mhz processor and 256mb ram, but it seems to run as if its on an old i486 processor with...16mb ram.

If anyone has any suggestions on what to do let me know.

Try to limit the services (Like httpd, ftp, sendmail, etc) you won't be using by disabling them. Maybe try a lighter desktop or window manager as well, instead of the usual KDE or Gnome by default.
