RH8 + Voodoo3 -- where's my 3dxl ?

I have used RedHat for a while... I had 7.2 on my HD, then wiped it (due to some problems... what a headache...) and installed a fresh 8.0. Under 7.2, my gfx card, an AGP Voodoo3, was recognized and the 3D accelleration was automatically detected and enabled. Under RH8, it sees the card and loads the driver, but it will not allow me to enable video acceleration with the GUI (in the RH menu, System Settings/Display).

I have tried to muck around with the XF86 config file, but I seem only to be able to break things, and 3dxl won't work.

is there any way to fix this? Thanks

you can save your self a lot of trouble and get better graphics by getting a cheap nvidia geforce2 mx and installing the nvidia linux drivers.
