Question Restart system

Hi.
I have made some changes into /etc/profile
Some ulimit changes, to make apply these changes i need to re'read the file in to the system.

Is there a way to apply these changes without restarting the system(don't want to erase my great uptime :-)

Thanks

you should never have to restart a system.

/etc/profile is run every time you open a console window, log in etc. if the changes are mroe relative to a running service, just restart the service.

Well, with the exception of loading a new kernel...
