Resizing the / partition
I have the following:
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 * 1 637 5116671 7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/hda2 638 748 891607+ 82 Linux swap
/dev/hda3 749 2694 15631245 83 Linux
/dev/hda4 2695 4864 17430525 f Win95 Ext'd (LBA)
/dev/hda5 2695 4736 16402333+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda6 4737 4864 1028128+ 6 FAT16
I'd like to merge the two large Linux partitions, but neither Partion Magic nor the Suse partitioner allow me to do that. Is the same way I could?
The only odd thing is that Fdisk above reports both as type 83 Linux, Partion Magic reports them as Linux Native and my mtab shows one as Reiser and the other as ext2!!
# cat /etc/mtab
/dev/hda3 / reiserfs rw 0 0
proc /proc proc rw 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts rw,mode=0620,gid=5 0 0
/dev/hda1 /windows/C ntfs ro,noexec,nosuid,nodev,gid=100,umask=0002,nls=iso8859-1 0 0
usbdevfs /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs rw 0 0
/dev/hda6 /mnt vfat rw 0 0
/dev/hda5 /mnt ext2 rw 0 0
cheers, L
