resizing partitions

If I have a linux only box, is there a program that I can use to resize partitions and/or delete some and add others?
Basically, something exactly like partition magic 6.0 for Linux is what I am looking for? Maybe something similar?

Thanks.

fdisk would be probably as close to partition magic as u can get

goo, but..

But will fdisk KEEP the current data on the disk while resizing?
I should have mentioned in my post that I wanted to keep the data that is on the disk. My fault.

yeah fdisk will kill ur data when u partion it.....Try gnu parted, no defrag need when partionin'. Gonna have to do a google search for the website. Don't know it off hand :D

cfdisk will also let you add/delete etc partitions. I am not sure whether it will let you keep the current data or not. Maybe you could check the man pages on this.

Partition magic 6 will work on linux and non destructively resize them.

There is one gotcha though, you have to create 2 boot disks, the first will load dr dos into ram and the sewcond holds partition magic. You have to create these boot disks in windows, so if you don't have a windows partition (or a friend who has) your're hosed.

good luck

To resize with a utility like partition magic, there is FIPS what comes with RH dist but i don't know about the other dist
It is in the dosutils of the disk. It does the job.
