Reset the MBR?

Hi :)

I have just aquired a new HDD :)

currently my comp has 2; 1 with windows on and 1 with linux on, I want to remove the 1 with linux on, as it is only tiny, and I need the power supply for the new HDD!!

I have Mandrake linux, currntly it boots into a startup menu, If I am removing the linux drive, I need to reset the MBR or the computer wont boot!

how can I do this, and can it be done via windows, as I am not very good with linux

Thanks :)

Boot from your Windows disk. If it's 98/95/ME, get to the dos prompt and type fdisk /mbr, if it's a 2K/XP disk, get to the recovery console and type fixmbr. Boot loader will then be wiped out.

Thanks XavierP

It worked a treat :D

now all I have to do is get a new motherboad (or BIOS upgrade) as this one will only see the new HDD as 30gb (its 160gb!) how I love computers :(
