Remote X-Server

I have a salvaged machine running linux and connected to my windows machine by Lan. I can telnet in an access any text-based stuff pretty well. (Some ncurses based software gets a little messed up, but I guess thats fixable)

I was wondering if there is any way I can run X-Window software too.

I use X-WinPro right now, I have also used Exceed for other X sessions with other UNIX OS's HP-UX particularly. X-Win-Pro works great.

vnc also is a free option, I use it through ssh for a secure connection.

Only problem I can see with using VNC is that you're going to have to have an X server up on the remote box too, which is gonna chew memory... Mind you it can be bloody useful if you want to just leave you machine running and pick up your session elsewhere I've found it most useful for getting to my Windows desktop(s) from X - have a look at http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/ if you're interested

cheers
