Question Remote login help!

I have recently installed suse 9,3 pro

I also happen to have my linux machine and my win machine connected through lan.

I have set up the suse firewall to work allright with samba and i have opened a port for azureus to work right

I wonder if i can login to my linux machine through my win pc as root

Last week my linux pc (which then had suse 9,2 pro) freezed when i opened limewire , and it would b very helpfull if i could login to my linux pc through my win pc as root , so i could kill the process that hang my system and regain stability!

Is there any way this can b done?

I must warn you that i don't know anything about this stuff,so consider me a COMPLETE !

Detailed help would b greatly appreciated!

PS1 I've heard telnet isn't safe , but i don't know how to use that either!

PS2 Since my external ip isn't static (it changes every day) if I know my ip per day can it b possible 4 me to login to my linux pc through another pc (not in my lan) which is connected to the internet? That would be fan!

If your Linux system is running an SSH server (which is likely), then you can use an SSH client (like putty on windows) to log into your Linux machine.
