I installed with succes an Pinnacle Studio TV tuner.
I'm using xawtv application.
My problem is that I have an remote control for my TV tuner, but I don't know which are the steps/applications which must be made to install that remot control.

Thank you very much.

how is the remote control implemented? the only ones i've had experience with haev used a normal jack input to the card itself, so ther's no configuration to be done

Well, I don't have much knowledge in electronics.
So, in general I'll tell you what's there.
It's a let say, a " thing " maybe a tranceiver or what's the name a photo transistor, linked by a cable to serial port COM1 or COM2.
When I push a button from my remote control the software for my tv tuner will treat the signal which appear on this COM 1 / COM 2 port .

Can you imagine that ensemble ?

The ideea is that my "receiving thing" it's not placed in the tv tuner but it's connected on the serial port.

Any idea ?

So, under windows it's easy beacuse I have the software ... some remote control assistent, which "take care" all the time if I press some buttons on my remote control.

Regards.
