Remastering live CDs ?

Hi,

I would like to try to remastering a Live CD ...

Thing is I would like to be able to test iso before burning to disc

I know you can run Knoppix from HD but is there a way to do it with other live distros..??

Tried using this in lilo but distro would not start

append="/dev/rd/0 BOOTMEDIA=cd"

Thing that would make it work is tricking system into thinking its running from cdrom

Anyone got any ideas???

Here is a link for remastering knoppix.

http://www.knoppix.net/docs/index.ph...masteringHowto

Have you considered using cdrw instead of cd until you get it right, so as not to waste disks?
good luck.

Hi

Thank you for your reply yes it is true I could use CDRW's but the distro I am using works from ram, So I just wanted a way of loading up from HD to ram ...

I can run distro with nocdcache (from CD) or cdcache (from Ram)

Would like to load distro from HD to ram (add an option)

In that way I could remaster then create iso .... then boot up using lilo ..... to test

I have linuxrc script just trying to figure it out (not making much sense ATM)

The odd thing is if I boot using lilo I do not get bootscreen to enter options .... ???

that tells me I am doing something wrong
