Remapping keys - is it possible?
Hi,
I'm learning Russian and I'll need access to the Russian keyboard for typing out assignments etc. I'm using US English as my primary layout and I've already added Russian as secondary and selected the "phonetic" layout, but I noticed in the "phonetic" layout certain characters are missing. How can I add/change characters in that "phonetic" keyboard layout? - SuSE 8.2 - KDE 3.1.1 Thanks! //Canon |
try xmodmap - read up the manual page and google around for examples.
P.S. There's no need to double-post http://www.linuxquestions.org/rules.php |
:D
Hehe.. found an easier way to do it. Thought I'd play around with the "keyboard language" files found in /etc/X11/xkb/symbols and /etc/X11/xkb/symbols/pc ... turns out those language keyboard association files are simple text files - so you can open and edit the files with any editor of choice. Just did that and everything works fine! |
