reload linux kernel without reboot
I've a FC6 server with a CMOS problem, so I can't do an remote reboot at night. I have to press some F1 key on the console to boot the server to the OS.
I just did a yum update and a new kernel has been installed, is there a way to load/reload the OS with the new kernel and not do a server reboot? I want to do this remotely at night. |
Kexec was designed for just this. I doubt you are set up to use it straight away though.
