Angry relaying denied


I am trying to use sendmail for a couple domains i have hosted through vitrual server. I can send and recieve locally from the box, but if i try using another machine with netscape i get relaying denied errors. I am able to get my though. something with smtp or sendmail.

you should read the sendmail howto for info on how to get started. www.tldp.org . check you have added the relevant relayable hosts in /etc/mail/access and are using a suitable relay method, e.g. access_db or relay_hosts_only which is defined in /etc/mail/sendmail.mc. generally tho these are pretty standard issues that should be tackled with the help of a manual or howto. if you hit a brick wall, come back.

also check that you've put your domain names in
/etc/mail/local_host_names (to have emai working at all)

be carefull with ip numbers and /etc/mail/access
it used to be in format
192.168.1. RELAY
now you have to let the last dot out
192.168.1 RELAY

Yeah..been trying to read the howtos and docs.

I have the full ip address in the access file should i just have the first three octets?
