Reiser FS
 

I was reading up on the Reiser FS today. It seems very good and sounds like it has many advantages over other file systems. I don't have problems with power outages, I've been living here for many years and never experienced one. But it's also supposed to save space and be faster.
My main question however is if it's really worth it to switch over. On their site they mentioned that other file systems have been tweaking for years and that they just started. The FAQ is also full of if your experiencing this problem then run patch xx.
I know it is probably tested pretty well but how big is the risk that I'll have to patch it left and right to keep it running properly?
I'm sure some of you are already using and I was just wondering what kind of troubles you ran into, if any.

ReiserFS has been in the kernel for a while now so if you get the latest kernel it will already have the patches applied.
I use it and its great, no problems and when there is a blackout the reboot is super fast with disk checking.

I use reiserfs with RedHat 7.0 I know I does does come with it. Used 2.4.9 kernel. Installed system, dumped to another partition
tar -cvlzpf ... ,reformatted with reiserfs, reloaded the system.
I have been running it for months with no problems. Pity RH can not use it out of the box. RH 7.2 use ext3 another journalling fs.

I guess I'll just have to try it out then. Since no one has had any real problems with it using the newer kernels.
I was planning on starting an LFS system since I can't really call my distribution Mandrake anymore because I modified and stripped it so much. A fresh bare system sounds nice. I guess I'll build it on a Reiser FS then.
