reg Hard links across partition


Hi,
Is it possible to have a hard link across partitions....
I need to take a data from one partition and write to to another partitions..If any modification of file done in Partition 1 ,it should be immediately reflected in partition2..I came to know hard link might work.... Is there any other way to o that... Thanks in Advance.

a hard link says that a filename entry A maps relates to the area of hard disk space X. another link then says that filename entry B ALSO relates to X. there's no version of logic that a low level filename entry on one device can magically map the bits on a filesystem somewhere else. it's at such a low level i'm nonsense. and either way that wouldn't achieve what you want any more than a symlink would do. if a symlink isn't good enough, and you do want instant stuff, maybe the fam library could help you out.

Question Hard Links across Logical Volumes

Say, 2 logical volumes reside on a single partition.
Then, is it possible to create a hard link between files residing on these 2 different volumes?
