Refresh problem in Fedora3

Hi,
I am new to Linux. Recently, i installed Fedora Linux 3 on my system.
The config. of my system is Intel Celeron 333MHz, 192 MB RAM. I am using dual boot system. Other operating system being Windows98.
As i login to Linux, the windows do not refresh properly. I tried to use both GNOME and KDE, but there is no change. My display resolution is 800x600 with 60Hz of refresh rate. Whenever i try to open a new window say a new terminal, the window does not come up properly....
Please let me if u have any solution to this....

With best regards,
Bijit
