redhat freeze

i installed redhat 9 and configured alcatel adsl modem to connect me to the internet but now i am facing a new problem.

i noticed that after connecting to the internet , redhat freezes with out a notice, i dont know why is this happening

please help to correct this problem.

also if redhat freeze .....is there a method to stop it, example the crtl+alt+del in windows.

Well, even in windows, if totally freeze, ctl+alt+del can't help it. So same thing in Linux, if totally freeze, you can't do anything either. But if only the X-server freeze, press ctl+alt+backspace to kill the X-server. If nothing happen, then it's more likely that your redhat freeze totally and u can't do anything.

Try to update all the patches they gave, including the kernel and it'll seem to become more stable.

How are you connecting to the internet. As in, how did you get it configured? using "ifconfig" or something like that? Try:

adsl-setup

then try:

adsl-start

That post is one of the most vauge that I have seen in awhile so.... :D People aren't likely to help... Good luck however...
