RedHat 9 and Lotus Domino 5.0.5 Server

Has anyone managed to install Lotus Domino 5.0.5 server into a Linux RH9 server box?

Check lotus.com/ldd

Hi

Check dominopower.com, there is a tutorial on how to install domino on linux
There is something perhaps on ibm.com/developerworks

Anway, for question regarding Domino, you should better post it to lotus.com/ldd, you would probably have more response

Sorry

I run a Domino R5 server on Redhat 7.3, which I believe was the last version able (read: compatible) with the Domino for Linux package. The java compiler and the glibc libraries are too different in RH 8 and 9 for Domino to run. I believe the problems lay in the fact that Lotus has done virtually no upgrading since the release. Check out http://www.notes.net for more info. It may be fixed, who knows...

Thanx for the reply.

I have visited the website you mentioned and have only found domino to be certified with Redhat 7.3 and no higher. I am not too sure on the new release of Domino 6.

Do you know what would happen if I install Domino 5 on Redhat 7.3 and then do an upgrade to Redhat 9?

Someone made it working on RH8, se link below

http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/46dom.ns...a?OpenDocument

See link for an IBM red book for Domino 6 on linux
http://publib-b.boulder.ibm.com/Redb...6835.html?Open
Even for Domino 6, it still refers to RH7.2/7.3

I've some doubt with RH9, even if I remember reading a post on the Domino 6 forum on LDD of someone having a domino 6 server successfully running on RH9, but it's not supported so if it's a production, you should better stay on RH7.3
