Are you talking about the login screen?

Redhat 8.0 Gnome Launcher
Not the login screen itself, but the actual redhat icon that is the equivalent to the windows start button. I'd like to change the grpahic to be something other then the little redhat.

Right click on the button and select properties....this will bring up the menu properties, select the icon tab from the tab.

What version of RedHat are you running, because this works fine in 7.3...I'll check on others though.

There may be a better way to do this but this is how I did it. I also discovered that you cant change the properties for it, so do this.
All you have to do is change the name of the icon you want to use to the name of the one that redhat is looking for. I found it in the usr/share/pixmaps folder. I think the icon is called redhat-main-menu.png . I just renamed it to redhat-main-menu2.png and found a little foot that I wanted to use and copied it to that folder then named it redhat-main-menu.png . I actually found it in the same folder called gnome-logo-large.png(I think), so I just made a copy of it and renamed the copy so as not to disturb the original. I was also able to change the redhat 8.0 splash screen to a gnome 2.0 splash screen that looks nicer. in that same folder, there is a subfolder named splash that contains the splash screen image, and again I copied the image I wanted into that folder, renamed the original then named my image to redhat-splash.png(or whatever it was named) I am close but I am at work on a windblows machine so I cant verify the file names, but you get the idea.
now if I could only figure out how to change that damn trash can icon........
