RedHat 7.2 & Raid5

Hi@all

I have 4*40 GB eide drives configured as a raid 5 array.
T o test the raid I sitched my pc off, took a drive out and kicked the pc up... Everything worked, I could still read my data and I was real pleased.....

I switched the pc off, threw the drive back in and started it again... It told me that it couldnt use drive hdh, and that my raid would only use 3 drives....

BOTHER....

So I looked in the Internet and learnt the commands raidhotadd and raidhotremove. After I isseud the command -
raidhotadd /dev/md0 /dev/hdh the computer worked for about 2 hours and surprise surprise after typing cat /proc/mdstat all the drives were present in the raid.....

I switched the pc off and turned him back on again.....

SHIT......

My PC refused to load hdh.... Because I had lots of time I did a raidhotadd /dev/md0 /dev/hdh and the pc worked again rebuilding the raid....... Why though when I turn my pc off, cant it load the hdh drive?? (dmesg says the hdh is unavailable....)In var/log/dmesg it does recognise the hdh drive. I havent changed any configuration with the drives.....

Would appreciate all help on getting my raid back together
again....

Thanx

Calum
