Redhat 7.0 help

i just installed redhat 7.0 on my pc and need some help. i am a geek, so dont worry about being technical. in KDE and Gnome, i cant watch my media files, it has some type of erroe in gnome, and in kde it dosent have a player, so what can i do? should i download a player (and if so, how do i install it?) or will it work with linux and i'm just a :newbie:. and 1 last question, how do i change the root password?

I can't help ya there about the media player, I use my linux box pretty much just for server use and not for desktop. But to change for root password, first change to root user then type "passwd" and it will prompt you to enter a new password.

thanks, that works.

all i need the media player to do is play mpeg, mov, and wmv. the default mpeg player wont play any of these, maybe they are still wanting to run on windows? or the cd they are on wasnt made to run on linux and corrups the files?
